Description

As our Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations at Quest Center, ensuring sustainable, stable financial management across budgeting, financial reporting, grant writing, fundraising, and data analysis. Working closely with the Director’s Team—including the Executive Director, Senior Programs Director, and People Operations Director—you will align financial strategies with the organization’s mission and vision. You will provide financial leadership to ensure sound financial stewardship and operational effectiveness across all departments. 

Key responsibilities include managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, overseeing the development and execution of our grant writing and fundraising strategy, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for stakeholders, including the Finance Committee and Board of Directors. Additionally, you will lead efforts in creating and managing the annual organizational budget, conducting financial forecasting, and providing in-depth financial analysis to inform decision-making at all levels of the organization. 

As a member of the Leadership Team, you will also play a pivotal role in maintaining efficient financial systems and building a culture of financial literacy across the organization. Your leadership will be key to ensuring the financial stability and growth of Quest Center, while aligning resources and strategies to our core values, mission, and long-term goals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: 
    Oversee the organization’s financial operations, ensuring the seamless execution of daily, weekly, and monthly financial management. This includes processing financial transactions, ensuring comprehensive record-keeping and documentation integrity, and executing month-end and year-end closing procedures in alignment with best practices. Utilize QuickBooks Online and other internal systems to drive financial accuracy and transparency. 

  • Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, and Strategic Analysis: 
    Lead the creation and oversight of the annual organizational budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Conduct in-depth analysis to project growth, revenue, and expenses, offering actionable recommendations to strengthen the financial position of the organization while staying true to its values, mission, and standards of care. 

  • Leadership and Organizational Decision-Making: 
    As a key member of our Leadership Team, provide a financial perspective that informs key organizational decisions. Collaborate with Leadership to assess financial implications, ensuring that decisions align with both short-term needs and long-term organizational strategy. 

  • Training, Mentorship, and Capacity Building: 
    Act as the lead financial mentor within the organization, sharing expertise and financial insights across departments. Equip managers with the knowledge to understand and own their departmental budgets, while fostering growth and development within your team. Cultivate a financial culture across the organization that ensures financial sustainability, resilience, and alignment with organizational objectives. 

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Communication: 
    As a key member of the Managers Team, ensure the accurate, efficient, and empathetic dissemination of information between your team and other departments. Facilitate open and timely communication, ensuring alignment and collaboration across teams to drive organizational success. 

  • Business Office Management: 
    Working with our Business Office Coordinator to Lead the people management of our Business Office Team who are responsible for maintaining operational excellence, ensuring accurate credentialing, auditing medical billing practices for compliance and efficiency, and coordinating monthly financial reporting, and more.  

  • System Administration & Data Security: 
    Serve as the strategic administrator and primary point of contact for both Insync and QuickBooks Online, ensuring that these critical systems operate smoothly and securely. Lead the negotiation of contract renewals and ensure proper access controls using the principle of least privilege to protect sensitive data. 

  • Contract Negotiation, Invoicing & Executive Reporting: 
    Oversee the negotiation and management of organizational contracts, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing. Generate comprehensive financial reports and provide insightful narratives that empower the Finance Committee and Board to make informed, strategic decisions. Effectively communicate financial data in a manner that aligns with organizational goals and enables sound stewardship. 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven experience in Non-profit financial management, accounting, or related field, with 2+ years’ experience in leadership or management position,  

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, familiarity with Insync and Paycom a plus, 

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines,  

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate complex financial data in an accessible manner,  

  • Commitment Quest’s mission and values and a passion for financial transparency and stewardship in a non-profit setting 

  • **Bonus: Strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and insurance processes (preferably within non-profit or healthcare sector), 

 

COMPENSATION: 

$75,000 – 95,000 DOE plus full benefits. And two additional weeks of vacation time to be taken consecutively once annually.
