Description

Summary: Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, this newly created position will play a critical role in continuing to develop the finance function across the organization, including working closely with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies and capital deployment alternatives. This role will be responsible for assessing the underlying performance of the business, identifying trends, and driving superior operating results over time. 


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Own financial planning model, process, and related analysis and reporting. 
    • Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, trends, and metrics to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Capital Management 
    • Develop and maintain financial models to assess the financial impact of capital investments and initiatives. 
    • Actively manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funding is available. 
  • Strategic Finance
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business planning efforts. 
    • Conduct financial analysis and scenario modeling to evaluate potential opportunities and risks. 
  • Other
    • Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. 
    • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance function. 
    • Provide assistance to other areas as needed, including but not limited to investor relations, financial reporting, and governance. 

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in finance or related fields, with a focus on financial planning and analysis, capital management, and strategic finance.


 

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex financial information to senior management.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to work independently and drive results, with a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced Excel skills; experience with NetSuite and Tableau a plus.


 

Location: Remote (North Dakota or Minnesota), with occasional travel to Fargo, North Dakota. 

 

Physical Requirements: The work environment is typical of an office setting, where the employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
