ABOUT THE ROLE 

As the Senior Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and fostering memorable guest experiences. This position is responsible for group sales, negotiated corporate rates, and business development while overseeing events and programming to enhance The Parker Hotel. The basic purpose of this role is to plan, manage and control the Sales operations to achieve customer satisfaction and meet/exceed sales, revenue and profit objectives. Achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with policies and procedures while meeting/exceeding financial goals. Reporting directly to the General Manager and Regional Director of Sales meanwhile collaborating closely with property leadership, the Sales Manager ensures revenue growth, brand alignment, and guest satisfaction. 

 

 

SCOPE OF WORK + TEAM  

  • Reports to General Manager, with a dotted line to Regional Director of Sales 

  • Receiving and passing along leads to Elevated Tastes and Villa Parker for any catering and private events.  

  • Flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of clients for site tours during off hours.  

  • Works closely with the catering company, Elevated Tastes to ensure client transition and communication is seamless between the two parties.  

  • Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Sales & Business Development: 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed booking goals for group, corporate, incentive, and transient markets.  

  • Maintain active sales solicitation, including prospecting new clients and nurturing existing accounts. 

  • Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals  

  • Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to secure negotiated rates and corporate business. 

  • Conduct site tours, presentations, and proposals to prospective clients. 

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities, adjusting strategies to maintain a competitive edge. 

  • Prepare reports, track production of key accounts, and provide data-driven insights to the leadership team. 

  • Handle VIP amenities and notes to Sales guests. 

  • Coordinates work priorities with General Manager, provides assistance and performs other duties as requested by management.  

Event & Programming Management: 

  • Oversee the planning and execution of property events, including live music, movie nights, and holiday celebrations for staff. 

  • Collaborate with the operations team to manage and enhance guest programming. 

  • Create innovative event concepts that align with The Parker Hotel’s brand and guest expectations. 

  • Coordinate with external vendors and performers to ensure successful event delivery. 

  • Develop promotional plans and materials to drive participation in events and programming. 

Community Engagement: 

  • Represent The Parker Hotel at trade shows, community events, and professional organizations to build visibility and secure business opportunities. 

  • Foster partnerships with local businesses to enhance guest offerings and experiences. 

  • Actively participate in networking opportunities and community activities to promote the property. 

Marketing Support: 

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement special promotions and campaigns. 

  • Assist with social media content creation and engagement to highlight sales efforts, events, and unique programming. 

  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials for sales initiatives. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Prior Experience: 

  • 3+ years as top sales leader position in a hotel/hospitality environment of comparable scale to OLS Hotels & Resorts or five years of employment in a related position with this company or other companies. 

  • Previous sales and marketing leadership responsibility overseeing all related functions for an upscale or boutique/luxury property of comparable scale to OLS Hotels & Resorts (four diamond level or higher). 

  • Knowledge of travel trade industry, group markets and leisure segment including key contacts that would serve to source business for the property and that align with the profile and prestige positioning of OLS Hotels & Resorts. 

 

IT Expertise:  

  • Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.  

  • Working knowledge in STS which is our CRM. 

 

Education:  

  • A four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience 

 

Subject Expertise:  

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.  

  • Service-oriented with exceptional customer service and sales skills. 

  • Previous sales and marketing leadership responsibilities overseeing all related functions for an upscale or boutique/luxury property of comparable scale to The Parker Hotel.  

  • Knowledge of travel trade industry, group markets and leisure segment including key contacts that would serve to source business for the property and that align with the profile of Parker Hotel. 

  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.   

  • Participate in hotel committees, MOD program and task force assignments.  

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests. 

  • Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor. 

  • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the Associate Handbook. 

  • Must be service oriented with excellent customer service and sales skills 

  • Must be able to effectively communicate to guests, management, and coworkers and read, write and understand the English language 

  • Must be energetic and outgoing 

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills 

  • Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy 

  • Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision 

  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment 

  • Must be able to understand and work with basic financial information and solve basic arithmetic problems 

  • Must be able to type 45 wpm and have the ability to input data and access information on the computer 

  • Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Opera; preferred. 

  • Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

  • Must be able to work during Springboard Hospitality business hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some evenings, weekend and holiday work will be required
