Primary mission:

 

This position is responsible for corporate, association/convention, incentive group markets, tour and SMERF sales. You will assist the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing in preparation of the marketing plan, sales plans, programs, and annual budget; manages expenses within approved plans and budgets. The Senior Sales Manager role has potential to grow into a Director of Sales Marketing Role with Springboard Hospitality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet or exceed booking goals for the following segments: corporate, association/convention, incentive group markets, tour and SMERF.
  • Prospect both new and existing clients.
  • Develop, Initiate, and follow up on leads
  • Coordination of group bookings to maximize profits.
  • Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program.
  • Attend the weekly sales meetings and periodically visit property and market
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports
  • Monitor production of all accounts and evaluate trends within the markets.
  • Be familiar with all OLS Hotels and Resorts, d.ba. Springboard Hospitality sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy, Average Daily Rate (ADR) and Banquet and Catering revenues.
  • Coordinate & Conduct site inspection of the hotel with clients and FAMs.    
  • Assist in developing strategies to increase share from competitors.
  • Meet and greet onsite contacts as necessary
  • Attend all-employee meetings and any other functions required by management.
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities, and events.
  • Create plan that will be used during downward trends in the marketplace.
  • Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program.
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.
  • Regularly contact existing accounts.
  • Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions.
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with social media marketing.
  • Prepare presentations and proposals.
  • Participate in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.  Participate in task forces and committees as required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior Experience:
    • 3+years’ experience is required in a related position with this company or other companies, preferably at a boutique or luxury property.
    • activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations
  • IT Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.
  • Education:
    • Four-year college degree or equivalent /education experience.
  • Subject Expertise:
    • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing, food & beverage, and hospitality professions. 
    • This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people, complex problems, and efficient sales activities.
    • Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
    • Requires ability to investigate and analyze current Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
    • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the Associate Handbook.
    • Must be energetic and outgoing
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
    • Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision
    • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
    • Must be able to understand and work with basic financial information and solve basic arithmetic problems
    • Must be able to type 45 wpm and have the ability to input data and access information on the computer
    • Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Opera; preferred.
    • Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS:

  • Abide by payroll policies, procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
  • Travel required: As needed for hotel familiarization, content creation shoots and to meet with colleagues.
  • Hours Required: Must primarily work during Springboard Hospitality business hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (PST), while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required.
