AREA SALES MANAGER – HAMPTON INN & SUITES MAUI, MAUI SEASIDE HOTEL, PAIA INN
We are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager at the newest Hampton Inn & Suites Maui – Opening April 2025 along with overseeing the Sales efforts at Maui Seaside Hotel and Paia Inn. You are a strong leader, who knows how to sell and exceed sales goals and expectations. You will be tasked with creating and implementing innovative strategies to enhance revenue streams and elevate sales and marketing efforts for all market segments including corporate, social, wholesale, association, wedding, meetings & events, and more. ABOUT THE ROLE
SCOPE OF WORK + TEAM
- Reports to Area General Manager & Corporate Director of Sales
- Leads Sales efforts for our Maui properties
Responsibilities
As the Area Sales Manager, you will plan, manage, and lead the Sales efforts, to achieve guest satisfaction and meet/exceed sales, revenue and profit objectives. You will be responsible for short- and long-term planning and day-to-day operations of the sales business. In addition, you will assist the General Manager, Corporate Director of Sales and property executive team in preparation of the marketing, advertising, sales plans, programs, and annual budget.
SCOPE OF WORK + ONGOING EVERYDAY TASKS
- Solicits, negotiates and books new and repeat business through various outside sales efforts including calls, direct marketing, referrals, property tours, networking, etc.; maximizing room revenue and catering revenue to meet/exceed goals
- Assists in developing, implementing, monitoring, and controlling the sales annual budget and marketing plans, analyzing competition, market trends and customer needs and comments; preparing and review forecasts, period and month-end reports and various sales and rate reports to continually assess the group and catering's productivity against the budget, plan and market
- Implements Springboard, Hampton Inn & Suites Maui, Maui Seaside Hotel and Paia Inn company programs and directs the operations in a manner consistent with policies and procedures to meet/exceed budgeted room night, average rate and revenue goals while ensuring quality guest service
- Develops and continually enhances relationships with key corporate, business, association, wholesale, social, and travel industry accounts, community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase our market share
- Possesses up–to-date knowledge in the marketing and sales profession, as well as the hotel and event industries; is regarded as an expert and/or proficient in the sales area and understands systems needed to succeed
- Experience developing effective proposals, RFP responses, contracts, BEOs, and other documents to communication with clients and the team
- Thorough knowledge of online distribution channels within both leisure and group segments
- Strong understanding of customer relationship principles and experience implementing operational CRM across company disciplines
- Acts as liaison with other departments in the hotel via weekly meetings to provide information in a timely manner and ensure group and catering needs are carried out as contracted
- Trains all members of the hotel staff on how to recognize and capitalize on all sales opportunities to increase hotel occupancy and revenue
- Participates in trade shows and community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and the achievement of sales and revenue goals
- Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- Participates in hotel committees, MOD program and task force assignments
