Primary mission:

Responsible for set-up, mixing of drinks, service and cleanup of bar area while enduring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of OLS Hotels and Resorts standards and profit maximization

 

 

SCOPE OF WORK + TEAM

  • Reports to Food & Beverage Venue Manager and Hotel Manager
  • Supports the Food & Beverage team in guest services

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by OLS Hotels and Resorts standards.
  • Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by OLS Hotels and Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Complete liquor requisitions and supply lists.
  • Know and comply with state liquor laws.
  • Ensure established pars are maintained.
  • Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules.
  • Attend to bar and tables, take orders and deliver in a timely manner
  • Bus tables and set in a timely manner
  • Perform opening and closing side work according to standards to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the standards, for mixing, portion control and presentation.
  • Serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ensure the bar, lounge, lobby and event areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Be familiar with the computer POS system.
  • Carry out cashiering functions by closing checks and servicing the guest.
  • Follow all state liquor laws and assigned training is required.
  • Follow prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests, and when necessary, report to management.
  • ServSafe and ABC online training required for the role
  • Stock and clean glassware.
  • Check soda tanks to ensure that they are full and secured properly to the bar.
  • Prepare all garnishes.
  • Prepare juices and syrups for bar service
  • Change kegs and soda bibs
  • Assist in cleaning of tables and all lounge area as needed.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Deliver food to guests.
  • Knowledge of both food and drink menu to offer guests suggestions and upsell
  • Knowledge of what all hotel food and beverage options are and be able to quality control all items served to guests
  • Follow hotel handbook protocols
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior Experience:
    • 1+ Previous bartending experience in hospitality or fast paced environment preferred.
  • IT Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, outlook) and or micros station.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Subject Expertise:
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
    • Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor.
    • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the Associate Handbook.
    • Must be service oriented with excellent customer service and sales skills
    • Must be able to effectively communicate to guests, management, and coworkers and read, write and understand the English language
    • Must be energetic and outgoing
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
    • Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision
    • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
    • Must be able to understand and work with basic financial information and solve basic arithmetic problems
    • Must be able to type 45 wpm and have the ability to input data and access information on the computer
    • Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Opera; preferred.
    • Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS:

  • Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Abide by payroll policies, procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
  • Travel required: As needed for hotel familiarization, content creation shoots and to meet with colleagues.
  • Hours Required: Must primarily work during Springboard Hospitality business hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (PST), while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required.
