REQUIREMENTS:
Training and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required, AA degree preferred. At least two (2) years’ experience working in a medical office or similar environment. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Knowledge of, or ability to adequately learn, insurance plans,Medi-cal/Medicare, and other coverage sources for HIV/STD treatment and prevention. Experience working with the with the LGBTQ+ community, especially those from communities of color. Some evening and weekend hours (to be determined) required.
Knowledge of:
Microsoft Office programs, electronic health records - eClinicalWorks preferred. Sexual health community resources, including HIV testing, STD screening and treatment and PrEP/nPEP.
Ability to:
- Be extremely organized and detailed oriented
- Demonstrate excellent verbal communication and written skills
- Provide strong telephone etiquette
- Be courteous, professional in nature and customer service oriented
- Maintain a strict discipline in time management with a focus on quality
- To learn about t insurance plans, Medi-Cal / Medicare, other coverage options
- Learn eCW (our electronic health record system)
- Demonstrate good computer and typing skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is primarily an office position that requires only occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving of office materials weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires daily use of a personal computer and requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper.
