Diocese of Brooklyn Teacher Qualifications:

Candidates for Traditional Teacher Preparation Programs:

• Be a practicing *Roman Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Hold a valid New York State Certification or be eligible for certification

Candidates for Alternative Teacher Preparation Programs:

• Be a practicing *Roman Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education
• Must have completed the introductory component (40 clock hours of field experience, must pass two NYS Teacher Certification exams)
