Overview  

HighRes Biosolutions is seeking a talented Associate Robotics Automation Engineer to join our Lab Automation engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Lab Automation Engineering, the ideal candidate has a degree in a technical discipline and an interest in working with robotic systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn to configure and deploy lab automation platforms and software on multiple robot types, lead your own projects, and establish a relationship with a variety of customers.

Responsibilities 

  • Configure relational databases for laboratory scheduling software. 

  • Deploy laboratory automation solutions, software, and affiliated devices while working with various teams to troubleshoot field issues.  

  • Execute Factory and Site Acceptance testing of robotic systems.  

  • Interface with and train customers at our headquarters and on-site regarding system deployment and technical issues. Contribute to documentation and the continuous improvement of our deployment process.  

  • Opportunities to write, debug, and deploy code for integrating laboratory automation devices and software. 

  • Support customers with technical issues remotely and on site. 

Qualifications

Requirements 

  • Minimum of a BS in a technical discipline, with emphasis on robotics and computer science.  

  • Ability and interest in basic software development.  

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure successful project outcomes and seamless integration of robotic automation solutions. 

  • Domestic and international travel up to 40% (100 days per year). 

  • A passion for automation! 

Key Competencies  

  • Basic proficiency in C#, Java, Python, or other Object-Oriented Languages. 

  • Understanding of and/or experience with robotic arms.  

  • Experience in customer service, deployment engineering, or bio / pharmaceutical labs. 

  • Experience with lab scheduling software. 

  • Ability to write tools and script to automate repetitive tasks.  

  • Experience recording logs and information on software bugs.  

  • Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP), or Serial Communications.  

  • Basic mechanical and electric repair skills.  

  • Organization and time management skills.  

  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads and customer expectations are highly preferred. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication to a variety of audiences.
