Job Description
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position focuses on three areas of responsibility:
Case Management, Care Team Leadership and the Clinical Professional.
Case Management
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will provide case management for assigned cases through assessments, evaluations, treatment planning, progress reporting, supervision, clinical skills instruction, behavior reduction protocols, training to caregivers and client meeting support based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the community setting, and in accordance with BTI policy on utilization and time management of such services.
Services will be provided for clients in a professional, energetic, timely and quality manner that aligns with the code of ethics as outlined by the BACB and BTI policy and expectations. The BCBA shall be responsible for actively supervising the therapists on the assigned client cases.
Service Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments/analyses.
- Conduct verbal behavior/language assessments (such as VB-MAPP/ABLLS-R).
- Develop individualized treatment plans (e.g., goals, objectives, and interventions) and monitor client progress towards goals.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, principals and other professionals.
- Provide caregiver training.
- Provide behavior analytic services aligned with the code of ethics outlined by the BACB.
- Follow behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
- Follow and record data for prescribed training protocols.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
- Provide weekly Supervision to the assigned RBT(s) assigned.
- Assist with administrative tasks and oversight of services provided.
- Provide individual and group training as requested.
Care Team Leadership
The BCBA will lead and supervise a Care Team that may include clinician types such the Behavior Technician (BT), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and/or the Behavior Analyst Assistant (BAA). As a Care Team leader, the BCBA is called upon to support the Care Team clinicians to ensure they meet their job requirements, and through professional coaching and growth support. Responsibilities for leadership of the Care Team include clinical supervision of the therapists; providing learning support for the therapists in regards to facilitating professional and clinical skill acquisition, and in response to internal education programs or external coursework; oversight of clinician time and time off to ensure therapist work schedule is managed appropriately by therapist for quality client care; and communication and collaboration with Service Managers and Administrative Teams in a timely and transparent manner.
Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities:
- Provide required clinical supervision.
- Facilitate and support training.
- Provide oversight of staff therapist schedules.
- Facilitate performance reviews and coaching.
- Collaborate and communicate with BCBAs in regards to client and staff case consultation, assignments and transitions.
- Collaborate and communicate with direct supervisor and Administrative Teams appropriately in regards to staff training needs, quality concerns, work habits and behaviors.
- Assist with administrative tasks.
Clinical Professional
The BCBA is responsible for meeting the requirements of the position for hours worked and hours billed, which are accounted for on a weekly basis. The BCBA shall be responsible for submitting accurate timesheets and clinical documents and resolving any surrounding issues in a timely manner. The BCBA will abide by all BTI policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and in all BTI policy and procedure documents, guides and communications.
The BCBA shall prepare and maintain a schedule in accordance with the needs of BTI, the Care Team, supervised therapists and additional educational and training requirements of the BCBA. The BCBA may be requested to provide consultation and support on unassigned cases in collaboration with colleagues and the Clinical Services Team. The BCBA may be tasked with the creation and facilitation of trainings, and work on clinical research and projects as needed.

- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
- Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings including, but not limited to: BLS/CPR, First Aid, Fingerprinting & Background Checks, State Licensure, HIPAA, Safety & PPE, SCM, Industry Certifications and other company trainings as directed.
- Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and written clinical documents.
- Assist with administrative tasks.
- Must be willing to willing to travel between work sites, and can do so with own transportation.
- Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, body art and make-up.
Safety & Security Responsibilities:
- Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients and adhere to HIPAA, FERPA and OSHA requirements and regulations.
- Maintain certification and proficiency in safety crisis management and life saving procedures.
- Protect the intellectual property of BTI Group LLC and it's affiliates and subsidiaries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
- Must utilize non-Company or Company provided transportation in a safe, professional and legal manner.
- Submit hours worked based only on actual hours of clinical services and work provided. Anything other than actual hours worked is timesheet fraud, is grounds for immediate termination and is punishable by law.
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Seek consultation from a Service Manager, the Clinical Services Director or Administrative Managers if an ethical or clinical concern arises.
