The Team:
This position is a part of the engineering and support management teams. This position works with and supports all co-workers and teams within the production process.

 

The Role:

This position interfaces directly with Manufacturing Project Engineer and production to design and maintain the manufacturing process for fabrication of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve production process efficiencies for continuous improvement

  • Program computer-controlled assemblies, soldering, and inspection equipment

  • Create thermal profiles for soldering processes 

  • Research equipment and tooling needs for manufacturing 

  • Work to reduce cost and scrap

  • Use and create work instructions and manufacturing instructions

  • Use equipment manuals to troubleshoot and resolves system equipment issues

  • Assist with production machine start-up/shut-down as needed

  • Assists Production Machine Operators in troubleshooting equipment problems successfully, work with leadership on training and process improvements

  • Participates in continuous improvement activities 

  • Complies and follows all company safety policies and procedures

  • Operates production equipment when production is short-staffed

  • Be a mentor for production operators

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

 Qualifications include but not limited to:

  • Experience working in manufacturing required 

  • Experience in circuit board assembly preferred  

  • 2-year Technical degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Working knowledge of productivity tools, examples may include Microsoft Office and quality management software 

  • Ability to use hand/power tools

  • Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professional and respectful communication to others

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Effective organization and prioritization skills

  • Demonstrate high attention to detail

  • Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools

  • The ability to work extended hours and weekends on a rotating schedule if needed

  • Ability to pass standard position assessment within 90 days of employment


Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Frequent standing, bending and reaching 

 

Travel:

  • Limited travel between all RIS facilities

  • Infrequent travel for trainings and/or business needs may be required

 

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing production floor
