POSITION TITLE: Concrete Foreman
PRIMARY PLACE OF WORK: Jobsites, executive offices, and other locations as needed
SUMMARY:
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of construction, including schedule and coordinate jobs, supervise daily work, and ensure safety and productivity of labor and concrete crew. Perform supervisory and management functions related to job cost accounting. May engage in the same construction trade work as the workers being supervised. Act as liaison with job estimator. Provide calculations on hours involved, materials needed, along with truck, plant and human resources required
REPORTS TO: Production Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


A. Construction Supervision and Oversight (70%)

  • Coordinate, direct and lead workers engaged in construction activities. Assign work to employees, using materials and work requirements data sheets
  • Supervise labor and concrete crew to obtain top quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork and pride
  • Maintain current knowledge of construction and green building techniques and processes
  • Track project progress to ensue project is on schedule, within budget, and quality
  • Provide carefully calculated bids for all potential in-house concrete work
  • Create RFI/CO
  • Analyze and resolve worker problems and issues and recommend motivations solutions
  • Provide concrete team with all appropriate materials on site
  • Ensures that safety and security procedures are strictly followed and all equipment and materials are used properly
  • Regularly communicate with supervisor regarding needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs
  • Maintain communication with Project Manager and
  • Superintendents to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Track materials, equipment, and labor cost
  • Ensure all concrete projects are of exceptional quality
  • Work with estimator and pre-construction teams to prepare estimates pertaining to labor and concrete

B. People Management (25%)

  • Review and verify employee timesheets and submit to Payroll on specified days. Ensure that hours are assigned properly and accurately
  • Suggest and initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, hire and training requirements
  • Respond to issues, complaints and questions from colleagues, management and the client in a professional, courteous and respectful manner
  • Follow-up as needed to ensure a thorough understanding of each project and contract requirements
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary design and construction management team on a wide variety of custom residential and commercial projects
  • Provide direction, instruction and guidance to concrete and labor team members
  • Maintain cordial interpersonal relationships with colleagues, management, clients and the public

C. Additional Duties (5%)

  • Respond to all cell phone calls and personal requests promptly
  • Attend meetings as requested

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with clients, colleagues and subcontractors/laborers to their understanding
  • Able to provide legible written and verbal communication
  • One (1) year of experience as a Construction Foreman at a commercial and/or residential construction company
  • Able to compose, read, understand and interpret written materials
  • Familiar with building and construction terminology
  • Possess a technical understanding of commercial and residential construction practices
  • Able to see details at close range (within a few feet)
  • Demonstrate experience and passion for client satisfaction


DESIRABLE:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Five (5) years of progressive construction foreman experience,
  • preferably in upscale/luxury construction
  • Ability to communicate in a second language, preferably Spanish

  • Work to be performed in a safe, workmanlike manner in accordance with Allen Construction policy and Cal OSHA rules, regulations, and requirements

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts and includes occasional exposure to wet and/or humid and or cold conditions, and to vibration.
Also must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, sit, squat, turn, bend, walk, operate telephone, see, speak, hear, write, and lift up to 25 pounds
