The fund development director oversees and leads fund development efforts at Girl Scouts Heart of Central California (GSHCC). Key responsibilities include writing grants and managing the grant process; identifying and leading donor engagement events/activities; overseeing fund appeals and stewardship activities; manages the Fund Development Coordinator.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate across the organization to deliver on the fund development plan.
  • Oversee fund appeals.
  • Lead the Big Day of Giving campaign.
  • Manage individual donor giving movement strategy.
  • Lead corporate sponsorship efforts.
  • Work with the CEO on planned giving program.
  • Manage all aspects of grant research, solicitation and reporting.
  • Work with GSHCC staff to ensure fulfillment of grants.
  • Lead stewardship activities, including thank you calls, handwritten notes, videos, giving society communications, and events.
  • Work with the CEO to identify women to honor at the Women in Leadership event.
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout the council area to increase donor impact.
  • Ensure an accurate donor database.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor of Arts in a relevant field.
•    Five plus years’ experience working in a fund development department.
•    Proven fundraising experience. 
•    Prior Donor Perfect or other donor database maintenance experience.
•    Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. 
•    Superior verbal and written communication skills.
•    Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. 
•    Strong organizational skills.
•    Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
•    Ability to practice confidentiality and adhere to the Donor Code of Ethics.
•    Demonstrate a commitment to recognize and respect the many forms of diversity.
•    Demonstrate a willingness to embrace the Girl Scouts mission, goals, values and council-driven programs.
•    Have reliable form of transportation, CA driver’s license, a clean driving record, proof of insurance, and be willing to drive as needed throughout the 18-county region.
•    Availability to work council events.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•    Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.


WORK HOUR/TRAVEL
•    Ability to work 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday. A willingness to work occasional nights and weekends as required.
