JOB SUMMARY:

Supports network devices, IP-Telephony hardware and software at all sites. Establishes standards for LAN/WAN operations. Troubleshoots and resolves problems associated with local and wide area network environments. Leads company-wide efforts pertaining to IP telephony and web conferencing solutions. Assists in the management of network security and business continuity efforts. Has responsibility for dealing with hardware and software vendors and technical support issues.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Participates in analyzing, designing, developing, diagramming, documenting, and implementing Company-wide data and voice and video integrated networks. Searches and provides technical solutions for company business needs and makes recommendations to management.
  2. Installs and configures Cisco and Meraki routers, switches, wireless access points and other network devices from different vendors. Using network diagnostics and analytics tools, maintains and optimizes the network devices to perform at a high level.
  3. Understanding and proficiency using OSPF and BGP WAN protocols.
  4. Leads the in-progress transition of IP telephony from Cisco to Microsoft Teams including Customer Call Center applications. High level of proven proficiency with both IP telephony platforms. Maintains and upgrades the IP telephony system, voice mail server, Call Center and other voice and video applications. Configures and maintains voice gateway, IP phones and other voice and video end points.
  5. Installs and maintains SD-WAN, private WAN circuits, Internet circuits, SIP and PSTN circuits. Configures and maintains network connectivity across the enterprise.  Manages network access for company remote users.  Monitors and reports the utilization of circuits.  Configures QoS on the circuits to utilize bandwidth efficiently.
  6. Designs IP networks, implements VLANs and configures and maintains DNS and DHCP servers.
  7. Supports IT Team in planning and implementing backup, security, and disaster recovery actions.
  8. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of products, developments and trends in WAN/LAN/Telephony/Conferencing software and hardware.  Identifies and advocates beneficial change opportunities.
  9. Works closely with Infrastructure and Security Architect for designing and implementing high performing solutions.

Ensures that work activities are performed in accordance with established standards and that work products are complete, fully tested and documented and meet client expectations.

Technical Competencies:

  • BA/BS in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in networking.
  • Minimum CCNA required.  CCNP or other equivalent Cisco preferred.
  • Comprehensive technical expertise in disciplines such as, but not limited to: Computer Systems Architecture, Voice and Data Communications Architectures, Hardware/Capacity Planning and Systems Development, and Long-Range Technology Planning.
  • Experience should be in Microsoft and Cisco environments, including, but not limited to Windows 2016-2022, Azure, Cisco IP-Telephony experience required.

 

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Works on computer majority of the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. to move computers, equipment, etc. as needed.
  • Some travel (domestic and international) may be required both by automobile and airplane.
  • May have to perform duties in tight spaces (phone closet, etc.).

Must be able to work flexible hours.
