Assistant to the Lead Mechanic - $18.00 per hour to start
Shift is 6am - 2pm Monday - Friday

Job Purpose:
- To maintain and repair the company's fleet of buses, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. This includes conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing necessary repairs to keep the buses in optimal condition. The Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on buses, including oil changes, lubrication, brake inspections, tire rotations, and other routine checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, electrical systems, and air conditioning systems.
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Order and maintain inventory of necessary parts and supplies.
- Operate shop equipment, including lifts, welders, and other specialized tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
- Stay up to date on the latest technologies and repair techniques related to bus maintenance.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
