POSITION SUMMARY: To sort donations and assist with merchandise at My Sister’s Place.
The schedule for this position is from Tuesday- Saturday 9:30am-4pm.
Accountable and responsible for the following results:
- Sort donations into given categories.
- Transfer full bins of donated items to designated locations on shelves.
- Remove and store seasonal items.
- Assist donors to carry items from their vehicles into the donation center.
- Move furniture from donation center to selling floor.
- Assist customers with questions.
- Properly dispose of waste, remove trash or cardboard to designated areas.
- May load and transport un-saleable items to the local transfer station.
- Keep donation center and electronics work area clean and free from hazards.
- Bring merchandise to the selling floor for display.
- Become cross trained to assist customers on selling floor and use register.
- Research, list, pack, ship, and track items to eBay, Poshmark, Marketplace and other online sales venues.
- Check donated electrical items and verify that all electrical and electronics are safe and in working condition prior to putting them on the sales floor.
- Provide excellent customer service and professionalism with all My Sister’s Place donors and customers
- Develop creative media and social media posts to help increase awareness and sales

Our mission is to support individuals and families who are plagued by domestic and family violence. All proceeds from sales, both online and in the store, support BHcare‘s The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services (UCDVS). Each year UCDVS provides 24/7 counseling and support, safe shelter and so much more for over 6,000 victims and their children. All purchases help victims escape domestic violence and rebuild safe and happy lives.
