About This Role

Under the supervision or direction of a Food Service Lead, the Food Service Assistant is responsible for preparing ingredients and dishes for final execution as well as plating warm food and executing cold dishes for delivery to guests and clients. Additionally, the Food Service Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by setting up and breaking down prep areas, assisting with kitchen organization, and maintaining clean and functional kitchen equipment. Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the work, the people, and the customers are key to achieving success in this role.

 

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Set up and breakdown kitchen preparation areas before and after events.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Support the Food Service Lead in organizing and preparing hot and cold dishes to be visually appealing.
  • Ensure all areas of the kitchen are clean and meet health and safety standards.
  • Follow instructions to maintain organization and streamline food service operations.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Experience:

  • Previous experience in food preparation in a kitchen setting required
  • Catering and/or banquet experience a plus

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to eight (8) hours or more in a fast-paced environment requiring movement
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays
