This physician provides comprehensive women’s health care services to Erie patients including prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Hospital practice includes labor and delivery as well as gynecologic surgery relevant to general obstetrics and gynecology. This role serves as an expert consultant for other primary health care providers at Erie. Outpatient work includes management of general obstetrics and gynecology, gynecologic consultation, and office-based procedures such as ultrasound, colposcopy and LEEP. Refers patients to specialists as necessary. Documents all patient care activities. Maintains a productivity level necessary to reach mandated annual level of outpatient encounters and deliveries.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs physical examinations on new and return clients.
- Admits patients to the hospital at which he/she has admitting privileges; may refer some clients to other institutions for hospitalization as appropriate
- Refers clients to specialists as necessary.
- Documents all patient care activities per EFHC standards.
- Participates in the call coverage rotation.
- Participates in community and clinic education programs.
- Performs procedures such as colposcopy, contraceptive implant insertion/removal, IUD insertion/removal, cryotherapy etc. with appropriate training, proctoring, and privileging.
- Contributes toward the development of goals and objectives relevant to specialty/life cycle area or other annual action plan. Attends meetings when assigned.
- Participates as member of interdisciplinary health care team
- Maintains current credentialing, licensure, and board certification (once obtained).
- Collaborates with other providers by including collaborative practice agreement with advanced practice registered nurses as assigned.
- Assists in supervision of health professional students or residents when assigned.
- Participates in EFHC staff and team meetings as appropriate.
- Participates in other EFHC committee meetings as assigned.
- Maintains at least minimum CME certificates as required by American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Adheres to all EFHC policies & procedures.
- Performs procedures as qualified and privileged for the ambulatory setting.
