LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

POSITION SUMMARY:

 The Laundry Attendant ensures Hotel and Casino linens are washed, dried, folded and ironed as scheduled.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Responsible for washing, drying, and folding all linen while carefully monitoring drying times and temperatures.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of laundry work areas and machines, including daily cleaning of all drains and lint traps.
• Responsible for pressing sheets, pillowcases and table napkins using flat work finisher.
• Responsible for assisting with guest request and delivery on request.
• Responsible for the familiarity of the hotel, casino, services we offer, and the image we wish to project.
• Responsible for helping monitor automatic detergent dispensers to ensure proper levels.
• Responsible for performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior housekeeping or laundry experience preferred. Some knowledge of sanitation and cleaning standards.

Knowledge of working with laundry chemicals.  Knowledge of Bloodborn Pathogens and cleaning contaminated linen.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Requires walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing of stairs. Must be able to work in a confined space with high temperatures. Required lifting or carrying weight up to 50 lbs.

Distinguish between clean and dirty surfaces

WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; noise level in the work environment is the sound of the machines
