Description

Are you a detailed oriented CNC programmer who takes pride in your work? Can you handle a variety of tasks, completing them with accuracy and in a timely manner? Are you self-disciplined and able to take direction? Are you able to collaborate with operators on the floor to identify and fix issues?

Essner is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer who has a solid background with Catia or MasterCAM. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Designing and CAD modeling and programming 3, 4, and 5 axis mills parts. The candidate will also have extensive experience in programming of Aluminum, Stainless, Titanium, and Nickel-Based Alloy Steels.

Reports to:

Key Responsibilities:

  • New product development and quotation support.
  • Develop CAM programs for multi-axis CNC machine tools.
  • Team with the shop to identify efficient work holding and material machining practices.
  • Lead the team in implementing “best practice” machining methods.
  • Develop tooling application designed to reduce setup and cycle times.
  • Develop standard processes related to setup documents, drawings, tooling, job aids and work instructions.
  • Through review of all programming media prior to shop floor release to eliminate disruption.
  • Manage programming schedule and personnel to meet or exceed delivery expectations.
  • Lead/Collaborate in root cause analysis, investigation and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaborates with the team to build execution plans on new existing projects.
  • Develops strong working relations with top metal cutting application engineers in the industry.
  • Safety conscious at all times, in all situations.
  • Team Oriented = Encourage and assist team members to be successful. Not afraid of bringing new ideas to the discussion.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Must be proficient with Catia V5 and/or MasterCAM
  • Experience with 3,4, and 5 Axis CNC Mills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • In depth knowledge of Aluminum, Stainless, Titanium and Alloy Steels
  • Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens, Okuma and HAAS controls
  • Five (5) years of CNC programming experience
  • Seven (7) years experience in metal cutting applications.
  • Strong understanding and application of GD&T, Algebra, Trigonometry, and machine shop best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Seven (7) years of CNC programming experience
  • Ten (10) years experience in metal cutting applications
  • Experience working with and programming of an Okuma Fastem System
