Position Overview:
The Student Life/Services Department at Charleston Southern University seeks passionate students to fulfill the CSU Mission, Vision and Goals. Provide students with the opportunity to receive experience related to educational and/or career objectives. This position prepares future graduates with integrity who are critical thinkers, skillful communicators and effective collaborators positioned to perform responsible roles in society.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities vary by role and may include, but are not limited to:
Career Center Office Assistant:
- Answer phones and perform general administrative office duties under staff direction
- Greet students, guests, and business representatives in friendly, professional manner
- Conduct inventory and maintain list of office supplies
- Assist with creating event marketing including flyers, table signs, and A-frame boards
- Help students with Career Development software, such as Handshake and AWATO
- Promotes and assists with event management, including set up, attendance, and guest services
- Support office initiatives, such as the First Destination Survey collection and Professional Clothes Boutique clothing donations, inventory, and free store
- Must possess high levels of integrity and must maintain confidentiality
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent Customer Service skills, Written and Verbal Communication
- Dependable and Punctual
- Willingness to work some afterhours events
- Experience with MS Office programs and social media is encouraged, but not required
Hours:
Part-time, approximately 0-15 hours per week.
Compensation:
Hourly wage, based on university student employment guidelines.
