Position Overview:
Assist in fulfilling CSU Mission, Vision and Goals. Provide students with the opportunity to receive experience related to educational or career objectives. Prepare future graduates with integrity who are critical thinkers, skillful communicators and effective collaborators positioned to perform responsible roles in society.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are needed for this position, and they are intended to provide students with experience related to their educational and/or career objective:
- Assist Admissions Counselors with daily office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing schedules.
- Provide information and support to prospective students and their families regarding the admissions process, application requirements, and campus life.
- Help organize and participate in admissions events, such as campus tours and summer registration days.
- Maintain and update student records and databases with accurate and timely information.
- Prepare and distribute admissions materials, including brochures, application packets, and acceptance letters.
- Assist with data entry and filing of admissions documents.
- Maintain accurate records of admissions materials in inventory/storage.
- Give daily tours as needed.
- Support the Admissions Office in various administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Full-time student of record at Charleston Southern University. (The student is not required to take classes during the summer.)
- Must have worked previously as a Campus Ambassador and received training on giving an official admissions tour to prospective students and campus guests.
- Eligible for the work-study program (federal work study is preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Alignment with the university’s Christian values and mission.
Hours:
Part-time, approximately 0-15 hours per week.
Compensation:
$12 hourly wage, based on university student employment guidelines.
