Position Overview:
Assist in fulfilling CSU Mission, Vision and Goals. Provide student with opportunity to receive experience related to educational or career objective. Prepare future graduate with integrity who are critical thinkers, skillful communicators and effective collaborators positioned to perform responsible roles in society.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are needed for this position and they are intended to provide students with experience related to their educational and/or career objective:
- Assistant must be highly knowledgeable of all Brewer Center policies and procedures.
- The Recreation Assistant will verify current ID of CSU student, faculty or staff member.
- As a fundamental duty, the Recreation Facility Assistant will monitor all participants and guests as they enter and exit the facility.
- The Recreation Facility Assistant will split time at the front desk and the weight room ensuring the building is running efficiently.
- Recreation Facility Assistant assists in the safety, supervision, and set-up of free play equipment in all recreation areas.
- As a Recreation Facility Assistant, assertiveness and customer service play key roles in the overall effectiveness of the position.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of all rooms in the facility including weightroom, lounge, cardio room, and basketball gym.

Hours:
Part-time, approximately 0-15 hours per week.
Compensation:
$10/hour paid on the 15th of the month following the month when the work was performed (e.g. work performed in June, is paid on July 15).

- Campus Recreation Student Employment reports to Nathan Cobb, Director of Campus Recreation.
- Students enrolled in courses during the semester they are working are FICA exempt.
- Students not enrolled in the semester are required to pay FICA taxes.
- Students are not permitted to work during scheduled class times.
