Position Overview:

The Campus Ministries Department at Charleston Southern University seeks passionate and dedicated student employees to fill various roles that support the spiritual development and worship life on campus. These positions offer students the opportunity to serve their peers, develop leadership skills, and gain valuable hands-on experience within a faith-based environment. Each role contributes to the success of Campus Ministries programs, including Chapel, discipleship groups, worship services, and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities vary by role and may include, but are not limited to:

Chapel Liaison and Discipleship Assistant:

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of weekly chapel services.
• Support discipleship groups and mentor peers in spiritual growth.

Required Skills and Attributes:

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• A heart for ministry and a desire to serve others.
• Proficiency in relevant technology and tools (e.g., social media platforms, office software).
• Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Hours:

Part-time, approximately 0-15 hours per week.

Compensation:

Hourly wage, based on university student employment guidelines.

• This position is intended to provide students with a meaningful employment experience that contributes to both their personal development and spiritual growth.
• Campus Ministry Student Employment reports to Seth Friend, Campus Minister.
• Students enrolled in courses during the semester they are working are FICA exempt.
• Students not enrolled in the semester are required to pay FICA taxes.
• Students are not permitted to work during scheduled class times

Eligibility/Requirement(s):

• Open to students in their sophomore, junior, and/or senior year.
• Leadership experience or involvement in ministry is preferred.
• Content Creator, Discipleship and Chapel Liaison, Senior & Junior Worship Leader all are restricted to IWS Student Employees. 

Student Employee:

• Must be an active student at Charleston Southern University.

Federal Work-Study:

• Must be a currently enrolled student at Charleston Southern University.
• Must have completed all documentation required by Financial Aid.
• Must have accepted their financial aid award.
