Student Employment – Counseling Center

Position Overview:
Responsible for greeting and welcoming students to the Counseling Center, providing a welcoming atmosphere for students seeking counseling services. Scheduling appointments, checking students in for appointments and providing information to counselors if needed. To answer all calls, directing as needed or taking messages.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities vary by role and may include, but are not limited to:
Receptionist
- Answer phones, take messages and complete appointment reminders for appointments
- Schedule appointments
- Greet students and assisting clients in the reception area
- Restock supplies
- Marketing and promotion-making posters, fliers, and advertising for counseling center events
- Assist with events and activities
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to work in a confidential setting
- Must be reliable and dependable
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and show initiative
- Computer knowledge
- Flexibility with varying pace of the semester workload
- Work no more than 20 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday based on student class, exam and chapel schedule
Hours:
Part-time, approximately 0-15 hours per week.
Compensation:
Hourly wage, based on university student employment guidelines.

- Counseling Center Student Employment reports to Kimberly Perkins.
- Students enrolled in courses during the semester they are working are FICA exempt.
- Students not enrolled in the semester are required to pay FICA taxes.
- Students are not permitted to work during chapel or scheduled class times.
