Summary: Responsible for ABA staff supervision, scheduling, mentoring, training, and development to ensure compliance and best practices are implemented. Allocation of time between manager duties and billable time (treatment and evaluation) to be determined by the Director based on the needs of the programs and will be provided in writing to the manager initially and anytime there is a change. Provide therapy and evaluation services in accordance with best practices and as defined by licensing board and governing agencies.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Manager Responsibilities

 

Support the Director with scheduling and client coverage by coordinating weekly schedules, addressing any gaps, and arranging coverage. They will also help ensure a smooth process by providing resources and troubleshooting issues that arise with BCBAs and RBTs.

 

Works in partnership with Director to monitor the delivery of services in compliance with governing regulations and best practice in school based (LRDP, Academy and SAHCDC) and clinical outpatient settings, disseminate information, resolve questions/concerns, etc.

 

Coordinates with Director to implement training and professional development plans for each BCBA to provide growth and specialization opportunities that align with the needs of the children receiving ABA services.

 

Observes therapy treatment, supervision, and evaluation sessions to provide additional training/mentoring for BCBAs based on identified needs.

 

Assists in the scheduling and delivery of orientation and onboarding for new BCBAs and RBTs including access and use of EHR platform.

 

Reviews and manages processes for data collection related to utilization and other key metrics as identified by the Director.

 

Supports teaming initiatives between education and therapy disciplines and/or other ESA programs.

 

Reviews evaluation reports, treatment notes and prior authorization documents to ensure that documents contain all required components, are complete and document clearly service delivery in relation to goals and objectives and are completed within established timeframes.

 

Monitors caseloads including working with Support Services department to establish evaluation and treatment/supervision schedules, recommends schedule changes to the Director if unable to resolve conflicting issues, and assists with same day adjustments.

 

Assists staff in writing and implementing effective behavior management plans that include best practices strategies and monitors for consistency and compliance. Ensures behavior management plans are documented and included in individual treatment plan created, reviewed and approved by the team members and individual and/or parent/guardian.

 

Works with Education and OT/ST/PT departments to provide input on incorporating use of behavior strategies during education and therapy treatment sessions.

 

Reports any concerns with job performance or quality of work of BCBAs or RBTs to the Director and assists, as applicable, in the development and monitoring of performance improvement plan(s).

 

Serves as a key resource or liaison for ABA team and other ESA staff for daily problem-solving and troubleshooting as delegated by the Director.

 

Monitors to ensure that all BCBAs and RBTs treat at or above the utilization expectations identified in FY budget.

Treatment, Supervision, and Evaluation Services

 

Oversee the development and implementation of behavioral plans and strategies as needs are collaboratively identified within each program with ABA Program Director and the preschool(s) or K-12 school director.

 

Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for individuals and their families.

 

Provide model teaching and other direct instructional support including practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction and in-service instruction to ABA staff and other support professionals.

 

Assist in developing and implementing assessment tools, conducting functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and developing behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors.

 

Provide ongoing support and training to educators, therapists, direct support professionals, ABA implementers, and other individuals in support roles for families.

Ongoing training of RBT staff in implementation of ABA principles and methodology and behavior reduction strategies.

 

Through data collection and analysis, baseline and programmatic efficacy for individuals receiving ABA.

 

Utilize defined platform to enter session notes within 72 hours of each session.

Provide consultation services and maintain ongoing communication with all constituents (other supports, parents, community, and community agencies).

 

Keep current with the literature, new research findings and resources. In addition to continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification.

 

Compliance/HIPAA:

While performing the duties of this job, employee will comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to Easter Seals Arkansas.

 

Employee has access to all client protected health information of the individuals directly served by this person, except psychotherapy notes. Employee will not attempt to access any other protected health information unless otherwise approved by Supervisor or Privacy Officer.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                             

In collaboration with the Director will supervise the ABA team within area of practice. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. In collaboration with the Director, interviews and hires new employees.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:                                            

Master’s degree in ABA and certified as a BCBA. Experience working with individuals who have pervasive developmental disorders and related disorders, their parents, and other professionals. Experience working in special education not required but preferred. Employee supervision experience preferred.

Valid Arkansas Driver's License
