Description

Summary:  Performs accounting work including but not limited to the analysis, preparation, compliance, review and evaluation of financial records and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, grant requirements, and other governing regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in the preparation of financial statements and other reporting as assigned including internal reporting, payroll, benefits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense detail analysis, etc.
  • Prepares and/or reviews journal entries and subsidiary systems (i.e., HRIS (payroll and benefits), billing and accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, etc.) relative to the general ledger.
  • Prepares analysis of financial information for budget preparation, trends, projections, etc.
  • Prepares and/or reviews reconciliation of accounts for assigned financial areas.
  • Participates in the on-going evaluation and implementation of accounting and HRIS systems and processes to improve fiscal management and processing capabilities and efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Assists in the preparation of the organization’s annual budget as well as budgets specific to grants and programs.
  • Supports program/departments in analyzing and explaining variances in revenue and expenditures to budget.
  • Reviews input of source data for accuracy and completeness in assigned financial areas (i.e., payroll, benefits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, investments, etc.).
  • Ensures timelines and due dates are adhered to for processing and reporting in assigned financial areas.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None.

Employee has access to specific client protected health information within the performance of the financial responsibilities of their position. Employee will not attempt to access any other protected health information unless otherwise approved by Supervisor or Privacy Officer.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in accounting or audit functions required.
