Summary:

Coordinates the organization’s Assistive and Enabling Technology initiative for individuals served by Easterseals Arkansas (ESA). This includes identifying and assessing individuals served to determine how technology can be utilized to support independence and health and safety. Promotes and advances technology training and education across the organization and keeps accurate reporting on data measures. Ensures services are provided in compliance with licensing regulations and ESA policies and procedures.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Manages and directs all aspects of the Assistive / Enabling Technology initiative.
  • Schedules and coordinates installation of technology including assessment of individuals and subsequent training of individuals served, staff and family members.
  • Monitors and documents the use and effectiveness in supporting the independence and health and safety of individuals utilizing technology in their home and community.
  • Trains staff on technology installations, use of technology including remote monitoring, and trouble-shooting any access or use issues.
  • Coordinates activities of the organization’s Assistive/Enabling Technology Team.
  • Leads organizational changes necessary to foster a technology first mindset and create a

sustainable and replicable Assistive / Enabling Technology program.

  • Monitor the technology and addresses any issues by engaging program staff, technology

vendors and/or internal information technology (IT) support to resolve.

  • Ensure Assistive / Enabling Technology equipment is maintained for optimal use (e.g., properly stored, clean, updates completed, equipment is charged, etc.) in accordance with agency policies and procedures including HIPAA compliance where applicable. This includes the completion of monthly and annual technology checks of installed technology.
  • Serves as the organization’s primary contact for Assistive/Enabling Technology initiatives and works collaboratively with external stakeholders (vendors, funders, etc.).

 

 

  • Maintains a current and thorough knowledge of CES Waiver and CSSP services, licensing regulations and ESA policies and procedures. Comply with all policies and procedures included in the Easterseals Rules of the Road defensive driving manual.

While performing the duties of this job, employee will comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to Easterseals Arkansas.

 

Employee has access to all client protected health information within his/her program.      Employee will not attempt to access any other protected health information unless otherwise approved by Supervisor or Privacy Officer.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct reports.  No supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:                                               

Bachelor’s Degree preferred from a four-year college or university in technology related field or four years of equivalent experience working in the field of technology including training others on use and access.

  • Strong computer skills to use email, calendar, word processor, spreadsheet, video conferencing, and presentation software.

  • Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
  • Ability to develop both the members of a team as well as the team itself.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid Arkansas Driver's License

Ability to obtain Certification from SHIFT as an Assistive / Enabling Technology Integration Specialist (ETIS) or commitment to complete the certification upon hiring.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
