The Donor Relations Coordinator (DRC) will work 40 hours a week. Light physical demands (i.e. spending hours listening and talking; working on the computer and phone; driving to appointments and events, etc.), and lifting event-related materials. Occasional extended days, nights, and weekends. In order to be considered for this position, please submit a cover letter and resume. 

The DRC will assist in building a comprehensive development program for the APF. The DRC is an integral member of the Development team and is responsible for ensuring donor gifts are recorded accurately and providing donors with appropriate and timely gift acknowledgement.

The DRC will ensure donor information is tracked in the database and recorded accurately. This position is essential to the data integrity of the donor database and executes best practices for data management. The DRC will work closely with the Director of Development (DoD) in segmenting donor and gift data to drive identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
The DRC will also have contact with donors, prospects, board members, vendors and volunteers.

Qualifications

Required:
• Over two years of successful, nonprofit, development experience.
• Experience working within a development database including data entry, queries, reporting, etc. – DP knowledge highly desirable.
• Excellent project management skills: ability to organize, determine priorities, and follow through promptly; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities to meet timelines and deadlines.
• Exemplary oral and written communications skills.
• Professional and engaging customer service on the phone and in person; ease in initiating contacts with other individuals and groups.
• Experience with successful special events; fundraising/cultivation events for donors and prospects highly desirable.
• High level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising.
• Passion for the APF’s mission of helping animals and pet owners and a commitment to excellent donor service.
