Job Description: Truck Driver Recruiter

Position Overview:

 We seek a skilled and experienced Truck Driver Recruiter to join our 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) company. As a Truck Driver Recruiter, you will be vital in identifying, attracting, and recruiting qualified truck drivers to meet our transportation needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies and campaigns to attract and hire qualified truck drivers, ensuring a consistent pipeline of potential candidates.
  2. To source and attract candidates, Utilize various recruitment channels and techniques, such as job boards, online platforms, social media, industry networks, and driver referral programs.
  3. Review and screen truck driver applications and resumes, conducting phone interviews and assessments to evaluate their qualifications, driving experience, and compliance with safety regulations.
  4. Conduct in-depth interviews and pre-employment checks to verify candidates' driving records, work history, and compliance with applicable regulations, such as Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  5. Coordinate and administer pre-employment tests, such as drug tests and physical examinations, to ensure candidates meet safety and health requirements.
  6. Collaborate with operations and safety departments to understand truck driver staffing needs, ensuring alignment with compliance and safety regulations.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records, including applicant tracking system data and relevant documentation for compliance purposes.
  8. Participate in career fairs, industry events, and driver recruitment events to promote the company and attract potential candidates.
  9. Build relationships with external driver training schools, trucking associations, and driver placement agencies to expand the candidate pool.
  10. Provide ongoing support and guidance to candidates throughout the hiring process, including assisting with completing necessary paperwork and facilitating onboarding procedures.
  11. Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and driver retention strategies to enhance recruitment efforts and improve driver satisfaction.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in human resources or transportation-related fields is a plus.
  2. Proven experience as a Truck Driver Recruiter or in a similar recruitment role within the transportation industry.
  3. Knowledge of truck driver qualifications, DOT regulations, and safety compliance requirements.
  4. Familiarity with recruitment techniques, sourcing strategies, and online recruitment platforms.
  5. Strong understanding of driver retention strategies and an ability to identify drivers who align with company values and safety standards.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with candidates and effectively communicate with internal stakeholders.
  7. Attention to detail and ability to accurately assess driver qualifications and documentation.
  8. Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and other recruitment software.
  9. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
  10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
