JOB DESCRIPTION:Â
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Labor and Employment Paralegal to support attorneys in handling a wide range of employment law matters. The ideal candidate will have experience with litigation and administrative proceedings related to labor and employment law, and be familiar with federal, state, and local employment regulations. This role will also assist in other practice groups such as insurance defense and general litigation (as needed).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist attorneys with all phases of labor and employment matters, including litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings (e.g., EEOC, DOL, NLRB).
- Conduct legal and factual research related to employment law issues.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents such as discovery responses, motions, position statements, and employment agreements.
- Manage case files and maintain document management systems, ensuring timely filing and compliance with procedural rules.
- Assist with internal investigations, including organizing interviews, reviewing personnel records, and preparing investigation summaries.
- Support compliance and HR teams with employment-related audits, policy updates, and training initiatives.
- Prepare exhibits, binders, and other materials for hearings, depositions, or trials.
- Monitor deadlines, court calendars, and hearing dates.
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, courts, and opposing counsel as needed.
