POSITION SUMMARY
To help achieve our vision, Maranatha is seeking a Assistant Football Coach with a dynamic Christian testimony and passionate commitment to our mission. Maranatha's Assistant Football Coaches will be instrumental in fostering student personal growth and development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Work cooperatively with the entire athletic staff
- Maintain good public relations with media, board members, parents, officials, players, fans
- Demonstrate professional growth
- Provide game results to Athletic Department and Max Preps
- Demonstrate leadership skills and Godly characteristics
- Accept responsibilities outside the team as they relate to the school and community (e.g. Fresh Start Day, Open House)
- Assume responsibility for care of materials, equipment and facilities
- Keep updated inventory of all equipment and uniforms
- Be responsible for game day set-up and clean-up of the facilities
- Assume responsibility for a clean, safe environment for student-athletes committed to the coach’s care.
- Demonstrate an interest in student-athletes and the overall athletic program
- Encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students
- Create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance
- Empower and lead a coaching staff in a Christ-like manner
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning
Other Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with other organizations, ensuring the school is well received and presented professionally and positively
- Respect confidentiality of all personal and organizational information
- Assist in other duties as needed and directed by the Athletic Director

INTERACTION:
- Interact internally with faculty, staff, and students. Interact externally with parents, schools, and the community.
- Practice and promote positive interaction with and among student-athletes, the school and community.

COMMUNICATION:
- Communicate well with parents and student-athletes about goals, expectations, evaluations, grades, practice dates and times, game schedule, and any other pertinent information/content
CERTIFICATIONS:
- CIF Coaching Education Certification; or completion following first year at MHS, required
- CPR & First Aid Certification is required for Coaches of all levels (e.g. varsity, junior varsity, frosh)

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:
Education
- Minimum Education requirements are dependent upon the level of coaching required
Â
Work Experience
- Minimum of one-year coaching
- Experience coaching at the high school level or higher, desired
- Experience coaching in a Christian school or faith-based organization and/or non-profit organization, desired
Â
Language Skills
- Requires excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to effectively respond to questions from staff, students, parents, and vendors

Additional Requirements
- A good, helpful attitude and a team spirit is the hallmark of the support staff at MHS
- Coaches are encouraged to be active in their local churches

Performance of this position may be evaluated by the Athletic Director, following completion of team’s season (e.g. winter, fall, spring)
