Overview: The VP of Sales & Business Development is responsible for driving significant revenue growth, forming strategic partnerships, and identifying new business opportunities at a national and international level. This role demands a visionary leader who can build and manage a high-performing sales team, foster strong client relationships, and align business development initiatives with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and business development strategies to achieve revenue and market share growth.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute opportunities in new markets and industries.
  • Establish and manage plans to achieve short-term and long-term sales targets.
  • Monitor and adjust sales plan implementation to achieve performance targets.
  • Develop and execute an annual operating plan aligned with long-term revenue and budget goals.

Sales Leadership:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team to foster accountability and excellence.
  • Set and monitor sales quotas and performance metrics, providing actionable feedback and guidance.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales strategies with promotions and offerings.

Business Development:

  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry leaders.
  • Identify and pursue strategic alliances, joint ventures, and other partnerships to enhance growth.
  • Oversee market entry and expansion strategies, ensuring quality, training, and revenue objectives are met.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts while ensuring profitability and alignment with business goals.
  • Create consumer-focused strategies by identifying key demographics and behaviors.

Market Analysis & Insights:

  • Conduct thorough market research to stay ahead of industry trends, competition, and consumer needs.
  • Provide regular reports and forecasts to the executive team, offering actionable insights and recommendations.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Oversee strategies to improve customer retention and drive client success.

Business Growth, Execution & Performance:

  • Provide accurate forecasting and go-to-market strategies for all sales channels.
  • Deliver insightful reports, competitive analyses, and updated forecasts to ensure clarity and alignment with team and company goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to develop and execute growth strategies that drive product engagement and sales.
  • Ensure sales forecasts align with product initiatives, brand strategy, and demand planning.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8+ years in sales, business development, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience in negotiating high-value contracts and managing complex sales cycles.
