Maintenance Technician – Ft. Wayne

Byrna is a growing technology company focused on the manufacture of non-lethal, state-of-the-art self-defense devices. We currently have a Maintenance Technician position for a qualified individual in our production facility in Ft. Wayne.

Skills / Experience

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems.
  • Reactive Maintenance for current machinery and Robotics
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment, including filter maintenance and basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Assist with renovations and improvements to facilities.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and infrastructures
  • Experience and strong understanding working with high voltage AC systems and Low voltage DC systems
  • Strong understanding and experience of pneumatics and pneumatic controls
  • MUST have experience with programing and controls systems. Specifically with:
    • Siemens
    • Keyence
  • Coordinate with appropriate personnel on new model projects, retrofit projects and redesigns for quotes and project completion.
  • Machine building experience a plus
  • Machining experience a plus
  • Read and accurately interpret hydraulic, electrical and mechanical prints and drawings.
  • Ability to communicate & work with other departments within the organization
  • Ability to keep a well-maintained workspace
  • Any other duties as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training is a plus.
  • Experience in Industrial Maintenance or related field is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in electrical systems and codes
  • Must be proficient with mechanical systems and robotic systems
  • Must be proficient with controls systems specifically Siemens and Keyence controls
  • Must be proficient working with pneumatic systems and controls

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require lifting and carrying of materials up to 75lbs
  • Working in a clean room environment
  • Working with machinery that handles irritant materials
  • Working while wearing a respirator and clean suit at times
