CNC Machinist – Ft. Wayne

Byrna is a growing technology company focused on the manufacture of non-lethal, state-of-the-art self-defense devices. We currently have a CNC Machinist position for qualified individuals in our production facility in Ft. Wayne.

Skills / Experience

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, specifically Tormach machines.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Program CNC machines using standard G-code and "conversational" programming to facilitate easier operation for basic part production.
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during machining processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Perform any other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining preferred.
• 10 + years’ experience with CNC and machining equipment operations and maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of G-code programming.
• Familiarity with conversational programming methods.
• Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
