Production Assembly – Ft. Wayne

Byrna is a growing technology company focused on the manufacture of non-lethal, state-of-the-art self-defense devices. We are looking for motivated, accountable people to join our rapidly expanding team.

We currently have Product Assembly Positions for experienced assemblers at our new facility in Ft. Wayne. Normal work hours are M-TH 8AM - 5PM, F 8AM - 2PM, with two 10min breaks and a 30min lunch break.

Role Responsibilities

  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reads and deciphers work and assembly instructions.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts manually.
  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Prepares work by studying parts lists/production order and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Assembles components by examining for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Keeps equipment and tools operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Work is typically done manually or by using light hand tools.
  • Conducts shop floor operation in compliance with health & safety guidelines and reports any noncompliance.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.

  • Read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Excellent hand eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Previous experience with component assembly or air gun manufacturing preferred.
