Mascot Performer

The Menace is looking for an energetic, engaging, and hard-working individual interested in being a part of the United Soccer League team in Des Moines as our mascot, Maniac. The ideal candidate will represent the Menace in a professional manner. Our mascot performer will attend community events, home Menace matches, and engage in social media content with our social media team. During games, Maniac will perform on-field activities and interact with fans to enhance all-around game experience

Responsibilities

• Engage with fans in a professional manner while also creating a fun experience for our fans.
• Must be willing to be silly and provide entertainment in a fun/exciting way for fans of all ages. Creativity, dancing ability, consistency, and ability to communicate through body language.
• Work with our promotions team to provide entertainment by creating dance routines, fan interactions, and other mascot related events to ensure a fun experience for our fans.
• Other duties as directed by Menace Soccer Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• A passion for sports and knowledge of the game of soccer is preferred.
• Experience as a mascot or theater is preferred but not required.
• Candidate must have a physical stamina to perform and remain in costume in all environments (outdoors, indoor, cold, and hot). Please note that our season is during the summer so you must be able to withstand the heat in the suit.
• Flexible work schedule to attend in season and offseason events such as Menace game days and events in our community. Must be available to work nights and weekends as assigned including all Menace home matches.
