Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire procurement process for assigned suppliers and commodities from procurement to payment.
- Execute daily ERP messages including order placement and reschedule messages.
- Daily follow up on important metrics including OTD, late orders, unconfirmed orders, expedites, and rejected material.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of sourced or sub-contracted materials or services supporting the production schedule or strategic initiatives.
- Resolve supplier quality issues timely and ensure corrective actions are in place to prevent recurring problems.
- Develop stocking strategy for assigned suppliers or commodities including part set up and maintenance of purchasing parameters to establish proper inventory levels of purchased materials. Implement replenishment strategies to maintain or improve lead times, both to customer and internal departments.
- Utilize ERP system and tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Analyze spend data to identify and execute cost reduction opportunities through negotiation, consolidation, and alternative sourcing strategies.
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, such as supplier disruptions, quality issues, and geopolitical factors. Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential disruptions.
- Act as a highly responsive escalation point for manufacturing when supplier delivery, quality, cost, or communication does not meet needs or expectations. Provides corrective action leadership and resources when required to ensure on-time delivery to the customer.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolution. Use data to develop, monitor, and drive supplier improvement plans to ensure prompt results and overall supplier effectiveness.
- Travel to supplier sites as required to review supplier scorecard and ensure the company’s needs and expectations are clear and being met.
- Facilitate and lead supplier visits, design reviews, and corrective action reviews with suppliers as needed.
- Lead and assist in supplier onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Proactively monitor and manage supplier performance leveraging the supplier score card process to meet company goals for on time delivery, quality, profitability, and technological advancement. Continuously improve the supplier score card process to meet evolving needs of the business.
- Support inventory cycle counting initiatives or corrective action/counter measure initiatives which result from cycle counting.
- Act as Procurement lead on new product development projects by supporting quoting, ordering and technical expertise as needed
- Take part in daily production meetings to communicate with other departments and keep them informed of supplier delivery schedules, material lead-times for the manufacture of customer orders, or the status of Engineering Changes required to support production.
- Provide support and training to others in the sourcing department.
