Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Director of Finance to lead all financial and accounting functions at FIRST RF. This position will serve as the seniormost financial leader, supporting executive decision-making, regulatory compliance, and financial operations. This individual will work closely with company leadership to maintain operational efficiency, drive informed decision-making, and uphold financial discipline across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a balance of tactical execution and strategic insight, with deep experience in government contracting, forecasting, and operational finance. The Director of Finance plays a key role in ensuring the company’s financial health and strategic readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- All finance and accounting functions
- Compliance with audits, DCAA, FAR/DFARS, and other regulatory frameworks
- Annual operating plan and budget
- Cashflow modeling and scenario planning
- Contract review and financial risk analysis
- Financial analyses
- Audit preparation and regulatory compliance
- Leadership and development of finance and accounting staffMaintains and updates financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and other regulatory requirements
- Composes the annual operating plan and budget, presents quarterly plan updates to the board of directors, and presents monthly financial updates to company leadership
- Supports strategic financial planning, including company and market trends, cash reserves, and distributions
- Leads preparation for external audits and government compliance reviews (e.g., DCAA, incurred cost submissions)
- Develops and maintains financial forecasting models for revenue, profit, and cashflow
- Oversees monthly close, financial reporting, and variance analysis
- Evaluate financial systems and processes and implement improvements for scale, automation, or risk mitigation
- Leads financial input on Production and R&D contracts, including analyses of cashflow impact, margin, and risk
- Oversees composition and maintenance of cost bases for product price sheets
- Serve as the company’s primary financial point of contact for banking, audit, legal, and external financial partners
- Supervises the Controller, Financial Analysts, and Procurement Manager
- Oversees composition and reporting of budget status to budget-holders
- Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure financial alignment with program, procurement, and strategic goals

This position may include supervision of at least one or more direct reports
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Office hours include Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. After an initial onboarding period, this position is eligible for hybrid (i.e., remote and on-site) work with an expectation of being on-site more than 50% of the time.
