To oversee the daily operations of the fabrication plant, ensuring efficient production, safety, and quality standards are met. The Fabrication Plant Manager is responsible for leading staff, coordinating resources, optimizing processes, and ensuring timely delivery of fabricated products to meet customer specifications and company goals.
Assignment of Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all aspects of plant operations including production, material handlers (expeditors) and workforce management.
- Execute production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality or safety.
- Monitor plant performance, analyze data, and make improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste including direct labor utilization, efficiency improvements.
- Lead and develop plant staff, including training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with other plant locations, program management, engineering, purchasing, EH&S, HR and logistics departments to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.
- Maintain budgets, track expenses, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain for timely material procurement.
- Develop and enforce plant policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and productive work environment.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
