SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will focus on improving and optimizing specific manufacturing processes and technologies. This position collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, perform root cause analysis, and create process documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design and develop manufacturing processes, focusing on improving efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Lead the development and facilitation of PFMEAs for new and existing processes, ensuring all potential failure modes, effects, and causes are thoroughly identified, evaluated, and documented.
- Diagnose and address issues in the manufacturing process, whether it's quality defects, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies.
- Lead or support root-cause analysis and corrective action planning for identified risks, ensuring preventive actions are implemented to reduce potential process failures.
- Use data analysis tools (such as Six Sigma) to monitor process performance and identify trends or areas that need improvement.
- Prepare and update procedures, standard work instructions, visual aids, and control plan documentation.
- Create and maintain comprehensive inspection plans that outline the necessary steps, standards, and tools required to ensure product and process quality throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Establish inspection criteria, methods, and frequency based on product specifications, process capabilities, and industry standards. Ensure inspection plans address critical characteristics and potential failure modes.
- Work with appropriate team members to optimize product designs for manufacturability.
- Participate in plant-wide continuous improvement projects.
- Creates and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
- Generate reports to clearly explain issues and/or results.
- Must be able to utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various levels of the organization.
- Must be able to interact in-person with coworkers, leadership, and the public.
- Must be able to handle high stress situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
