SUMMARY
The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading, unloading and moving all materials throughout the facility for processing and assists in the handling/processing of materials as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Load and/or unload materials on trailers as needed.
- Weigh, label, and properly store all processed materials as required.
- Maintain and service the forklift truck and informs the Supervisor of any significant issues.
- Complete forklift inspections by checking the items on the daily forklift inspection sheet and report any significant issues to shift supervisor and documents findings.
- Operate balers, granulators, trash compactor and other equipment as needed.
- Provide proper weight tickets to front office for billing purposes.
- Ensure proper tare weight program is used for material by referencing spec sheets.
- Sweep up debris in the following areas: shipping/ receiving trailers, granulators, balers, floor scales, and surrounding warehouse areas.
- Empty trash containers throughout the facility and performs daily scale inspections.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Interact in-person with peers and management for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to handle high stress situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
