Regional Medical Director

Centurion is proud to be the NEW provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.  We are currently seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director to oversee clinical services provided to the incarcerated populations in the Cumberland, Maryland facilities.

The Regional Medical Director provides comprehensive medical direction needed to meet the service delivery requirements for the contract in collaboration with the Regional Operations Manager/Regional Vice President. This role will also include the following:

• Provide the clinical and utilization management direction needed to meet the service delivery requirements of the contract.
• Mentor, clinically supervise and evaluate the team-delivered medical services for the patients at all facilities of the contract.
• Mentor and evaluate the team-delivered utilization management process.
• Promote the culture of quality medical care using evidence-based standard of care.
• Establish directives, provide direction and/or attend meetings as requested.  
• Function as consultant for behavioral health staff and ancillary provider staff.
• Provide indirect clinical services.
• Serve as the contract’s clinical expert, provider resource, clinical and medical management leader, and clinical outcomes driver.
• Represents correctional healthcare to the client and the contract’s providers.

•    Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
•    Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
•    Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or Emergency Medicine required
•    Must show/be able to obtain active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
 •   Experience in clinical leadership role preferred
•    Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required
•    Ability to pass credentialing and background check
