Position Summary:

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, manage the Human Resources (HR) department and provide human resources services.  Develops and maintains programs and best practices for recruitment, retention, benefit administration, compensation, employee relations, HR information systems, and staff development.  HR policy development and maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

Collaborating with senior management:

  • Working with the leadership team to develop and implement strategic HR plans that align with the company's overall business goals. 
  • Develop workforce planning strategies with leadership to support current and future business plans.

Developing HR policies and procedures:

  • Creating and maintaining a comprehensive set of HR policies and procedures that comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Establish and update the company compensation strategy and structure

Ensuring compliance:

  • Staying up to date with changes in employment laws and regulations and implementing necessary changes to HR practices to ensure compliance. 

Leading the HR team:

  • Providing guidance, support, and leadership to the HR team to ensure they perform effectively and meet their objectives

Employee Relations and Engagement:

Managing employee relations:

  • Overseeing and resolving employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution. 

Improving employee engagement:

  • Implementing strategies to improve employee engagement, such as employee recognition programs, feedback mechanisms, and opportunities for professional development. 

Managing benefits programs:

  • Overseeing the development and implementation of benefits programs that attract and retain top talent. 

Ensuring a positive work environment:

  • Promoting a positive and inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued and respected. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, social sciences, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred
  • SHRM, SPHR or PHR certification is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years progressive HR management experience with driving culture, workforce strategy, talent development and/or business development experience preferably in healthcare
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership skills, and organizational skills
  • Remarkable interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong analytical, supervisory, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of labor relations, union laws, international HR processes, employment legislation, and legal regulations
  • Thorough understanding and experience of HR functions, including talent acquisition and management
  • Skilled in budget preparation and overall fiscal management
  • Experienced in formulating programs and policies for hiring, employee development, performance management, and termination
  • Skilled in developing and implement employee retention programs
  • Strategic planning and performance measurement skills
  • Hands-on experience in using the most advanced HR management software, such as SAP
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suites such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Thought leader, leveraging modern internal and external communication channels
  • Knowledge of business analysis techniques
