Industrial Millwright

K Machine Industrial Services is a specialized machining and millwright services company focused on the repair of heavy industrial rotating equipment. K Machine is looking to hire a full-time Industrial Millwright to join our team. This individual would report to the Tuscaloosa, AL shop location and the candidate is expected to possess appropriate tools specific to the trade.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

• Install, maintain, and repair rotating machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, or other drawings in an industrial environment.
• Construct the foundation for machines and equipment using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
• Use tools such as cutting torches, welding machines, hydraulic torque wrenches, hydraulic stud tensioners, and metalworking equipment.
• Work with industry-specific and highly complex precision machines.
• Unload, inspect, and move equipment using rigging, hoisting devices, chain falls, and hydraulic forklifts or gantry overhead cranes.
• Ability to stand, squat, and/or work in possibly uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts with flexibility; on call 24/7.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature environments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED/Apprenticeship classes or trade school.
• Understand load properties of cables, ropes, hoists, and cranes
• Well versed in crane hand signals.
• Experience in bearing fitting, gear and wheel alignment, motor attachment, and connecting belts according to manufacturer's blueprints and drawings.
• Experience with precision leveling and laser alignment for angle measurement and material thickness using calipers, squares, micrometers, lasers, and other tools.
• Ability to lift 49 lbs up to chest height, repetitively.
• Must pass a drug screen, background check, and have reliable means of transportation to and from work.
