MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS or Computer Science (coursework must include GIS); AND
- Six (6) months of direct experience with geographic information systems.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
Certificates/Licenses Required:
- Valid driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle insurance.
- Incumbent will be subject to background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Required at Entry:
- Knowledge of data formats and transfer standards.
- Knowledge of the capabilities, principles, practices and trends of GIS technology.
- Knowledge of coordinate systems, map projections, spatial topology, and address geocoding methods.
- Knowledge of land surveying principles, legal descriptions and Public Land Survey System.
- Knowledge of where to obtain various public geographic databases.
- Knowledge of mobile GIS applications, such as Survey123 and ArcGIS Field Maps.
- Skill in GIS software such as ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with GIS users, non-GIS users, outside agencies, and the public.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Interpersonal, analytical, organizational and facilitation skills.
- Ability to conduct research independently.
- Ability to develop and present status reports.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records with knowledge of metadata.
- Ability to multi-task on a variety of tasks, projects and issues.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
