As an HR Generalist at Bristol Hospice, your role is all about supporting people! 

We’re looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented HR Generalist who’s passionate about driving employee engagement, improving processes, and ensuring compliance across the board.

 

Coverage Areas: In this role, you’ll provide HR support to our North and Eastern U.S. locations—with the flexibility to scale up as needed—as part of our nationwide team.

Qualifications, Duties, and Perks

A Day in the Life: What You’ll Do: 
(Includes, but not limited to)

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a go-to partner for employees and managers, offering guidance on workplace concerns, policies, and HR best practices

  • Partner with leaders to address and document employee relations matters, conducting investigations, mediating conflicts, guiding the creation of performance improvement plans, and follow-up on action steps and outcomes timely

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment aligned with Bristol’s mission and values

Manager Support & Coaching

  • Coach leaders through employee performance conversations, disciplinary actions, and development plans

  • Partner with managers to implement fair and consistent practices across the organization

  • Provide tools and guidance for effective team leadership, communication, and accountability

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to deliver a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience for new hires

  • Support exit processes, including coordinating offboarding tasks, conducting exit interviews, and identifying retention trends

Benefits & Policy Guidance

  • Be a trusted resource for team members with questions about benefits, time off, leave of absence, and company policies

  • Partner with the Benefits team to assist with open enrollment, wellness initiatives, and employee education

  • Support FMLA, ADA, and other compliance-related leave management tasks in coordination with HR leadership

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of employee information in the HRIS (Paycom experience a plus)

  • Maintain HR files and records in compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Assist with internal audits and help ensure consistent application of policies and processes

  • Contribute to ongoing policy reviews and updates

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Run and analyze reports on turnover, engagement, headcount, and other key HR metrics

  • Identify trends and partner with HR leadership to recommend process or policy improvements

  • Help prepare presentations or reports for HR leadership and stakeholders as needed

Projects & Culture Initiatives

  • Assist with HR-driven initiatives such as engagement surveys, wellness programs, recognition efforts, and training rollouts

  • Participate in system or process improvement projects across the HR function

  • Bring creative ideas to the table that elevate the employee experience


What You Bring:

  • HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role
  • Strong working knowledge of HR functions including recruiting, benefits, compensation, training, and organizational development
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to analyze data, create reports, and provide actionable insights
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment
