Description

Objective: Develop hourly employees by providing leadership, direction, and support to assure completion of the production schedule while maintaining adherence to safety, quality, and cost considerations. Facilitate along with hourly team leads all areas of people management such as corrective actions, attendance, PTO, and other plant policies.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages the activities of the assigned area, enabling them to meet key performance production goals and objectives.
  • Manage resource requirements for assigned areas to ensure efficient production methods
  • Backfill for the Production Manager in their absence
  • Develop hourly leads to take ownership of key measures such as yields, labor, people safety, and quality
  • Facilitate assigned tailgates along with hourly leads for all assigned employees
  • Provide weekly reporting of key measures to budget, and prepare action plans to correct deficiencies
  • Lead and support process improvement activities with informal and formal teams
  • Understand, develop, and refine production SOPs to develop training capability, as well as implementing best practices
  • Evaluate and interpret daily production reports to observe trends in the production cycle
  • Lead shelf-life optimization studies to qualify lines for new products and/or improved shelf life.
  • Perform line activities such as theoretical yield, run rate analysis, dryer charge weight, spill points, and/or establishing line bottlenecks

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in supervision
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Industrial engineering background or degree
  • Manufacturing experience in a produce or fresh-cut environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Statistical Process Control knowledge and/or training
  • Working knowledge of packaging equipment such as vertical form and fill and tray forming/sealing equipment.
