Primary Purpose of Position:

Serves meals to the residents and quests in the dining room.  Takes used service items out of the dining room. 

Job Duties:

  • Set-up independent and assisted living dining rooms prior to meal service.
  • Fill and re-stock various food, condiments and supplies, either in the kitchen or the dining rooms.
  • Assist in the seating of residents and guests as necessary.
  • Wait on tables, using proper service procedures.
  • Take plates, food, etc. away from tables when resident is completed with the item/meal.
  • Assist guests and visitors with the proper ordering procedure in the dining rooms.
  • Complete on-going cleaning as needed in the kitchen and dining rooms
  • Know the Kosher dietary restrictions.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience

Previous wait person experience preferred. 

Licenses & Certifications

Food handling certification is highly encouraged for this position.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrates strong communication and relationship building skills with residents, and is able to explain residents’ needs to others as needed for resident advocacy.
  • Specialized training or experience in geriatric care or gerontology is desirable.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Ability to work as part of a team
