Position Summary:  Chess Team Coach for Middle and Upper School.   This is a part-time position.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and implement trips in accordance with school policies and regulations as well as student interest and ability
  • Work with the Business Office on any financial transactions that may be required
  • Communicate with parents regarding expectations, practices, and contests
  • Guarantee student eligibility to participate in chess based on EPS guidelines governing academic performance
  • Ensure the safety of students by adhering to both team and general school rules and policies while on the EPS campus and while traveling
  • Season expectations:
    • Chess season is September through March
    • League play during the week; tournaments are optional      

Qualifications

The candidate must:

  • Have the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, parents, alums and administrators,
  • Be a role model for high school students,
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and culturally competent skills,
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check in addition to having an acceptable driving record

Compensation

  • Our coaching stipend is $900 per month.
